Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you order a domain name, hosting or email from Webs4U. Placing an order means you accept them.
1. Who we are
Webs4U is a domain and hosting reseller. Domains are registered through xneelo and, for .za domains, the ZA Central Registry. Hosting runs on xneelo infrastructure. Contact us at sales (at) webs4u.co.za.
2. Ordering and payment
An order becomes binding once payment is received. Prices shown include VAT and are in South African Rand. Payments are processed by PayFast; we do not receive or store your card details.
Unpaid orders are cancelled after 24 hours and any domain name reserved for that order is released.
3. Domain registration
Domain names are registered in your name. You are the legal registrant; we manage the registration on your behalf.
Availability shown on this site is checked live against the registry, but a name can be taken by someone else in the time between your search and your payment. If that happens we will offer you an alternative or refund the domain fee in full.
Domain fees are not refundable once the name is registered. This is because the registry charges us at that point and does not reverse it.
You are responsible for keeping your contact details current. Registries require a working email address and may suspend a domain if theirs bounces.
4. Renewals
Domains renew annually. Hosting renews on the cycle you selected. We will notify you before a renewal falls due. If a renewal is not paid, the service is suspended and the domain may eventually be released, at which point recovering it may be expensive or impossible.
5. Hosting
Hosting resources are subject to fair use. We may ask you to move to a larger package if your usage consistently exceeds what your package provides.
Storage over your package allocation is charged at R29.00 per additional GB per month. We will contact you before billing an overage, not afterwards.
Backups are taken daily and retained for 14 days. Backups are a courtesy, not a guarantee, so keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.
Hosting may be cancelled with 30 days' notice from either side. We do not refund part-months.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use our services to host or distribute:
- content that is unlawful in South Africa
- malware, phishing pages or material used to defraud people
- bulk unsolicited email
- content that infringes someone else's copyright or trade mark
We may suspend a service without notice where there is a genuine, immediate risk to other customers or to the public. Otherwise we will contact you first.
7. Provisioning times
Domains and hosting are set up manually. We aim for same business day and it is usually a matter of hours, but we do not guarantee a specific turnaround time.
8. Liability
We do our best to keep services running, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Our liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us for the affected service in the 12 months before the problem arose. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit or lost business.
9. Your data
How we handle your personal information is set out in our privacy notice.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be emailed to active customers. The version on this page at the time you place an order is the one that applies to that order.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
